Breeding programs
Both parents on the page.
Start one from any two plants. The phase moves on its own, from the first pollination to the seed harvest.
What it does
Mother

Phases
Offer pollen
How it works
-
Start a breeding program
Name the cross, choose the mother from your collection, and the father: yours, another grower's, or not known yet.
-
Log timeline entry
Log a pollination, a berry count or a seed harvest, with up to five photos and a note.
-
Add a child plant
When the seeds come up, add each seedling to the program as a child plant. It carries its mother and father with it.
In practice
Michelle's philodendron cross, as it stands.
One program from @grownbymichelle: the two parents, and the entries so far.

Philodendron rugosum x Philodendron Martianum
Pollinated
- 24 Aug 2026Pollination“Took pollen from martianum spadix had already closed”
- 6 Sep 2026Note“Looking promising”
Good to know
- The mother is yours
- A plant of yours with the status In collection; the father can be anyone's, or unknown.
- Inflo temp for Philodendron
- The entry form offers an inflorescence temperature only when the mother is a Philodendron.
- Private, Followers or Public
- Chosen per program; a Private program is yours alone, off your profile and off the Grapevine.
- Never on the web
- A program stays in the app; a plant's web page never shows it.
- Offer pollen
- When a plant flowers, offer its pollen on the Grapevine with an expiry date.
